Coaches Training Jan. 28 9am-2pm at Roanoke Rec. Center
The PASS Planning clinic is based on the development and production of lesson/session plans. The clinic also concentrates on seasonal and Academy curriculums. At the end of this training coaches will have lesson plans on a variety of subjects that will be produced from a laptop and can be printed for their upcoming season.
Areas focused on the clinic are:
- Individually geared activities "Begin with the End in Mind"
- Games to maintain element of fun
- Activities to improve agility, coordination, and balance.
- Warm-up reflects focus of session
- Activities vs. Explanations
- Keep them moving from one activity to next
- Individual player development should be focus
- Introduction of individual tactics
- Teach them to think for themselves

The purpose of GNWSA is to create and maintain a youth program based on the ideals of good sportsmanship, honesty, loyalty, and courage taught through organized athletic activity. All persons participating in the program shall strive to develop fair play among the youth, and place secondary importance on winning games. Participants include players, parents, coaches, spectators, officials, and other GNWSA volunteers.
